COVID-19: Keeping you and our community safe

Dear customers, important message.

The coronavirus (COVID-19) creates challenges for all of us, both personally and professionally. First and foremost, we hope that you, your family and your pets stay safe and healthy.

As the Centre Vétérinaire Rive-Sud is a public space, where people and pets gather, we want to keep you informed of our recommendations as well as the steps we are taking to continue offering the care your pets need, while providing you and our employees a safe environment. As always, we rigorously follow infection prevention and control by implementing best hygiene practices in the Centre Vétérinaire Rive-Sud.  We have increased both the frequency and scope of hospital cleaning and disinfecting to help ensure both clients and employees are kept safe. We work closely with our teams to ensure that anyone who is not feeling well or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 understand that we support them staying home.

There is currently no indication that dogs or cats can become clinically infected with COVID-19. What is yet unclear is whether they can become carriers of the virus from person to person.

To help us continue to serve pets in need, we ask customers who have recently travelled to a high-risk country, who have been exposed to symptomatic cases or who have tested positive, to not bring their pets to the Centre Vétérinaire Rive-Sud.

If you are ever at risk or have tested positive for COVID-19 and your pet has a medical emergency, please call ahead to let our staff know. We will determine the best method to ensure that your pet can receive the care it needs while minimizing the risk to our employees and other customers.

Despite this, we would like to inform you that the Centre Vétérinaire Rive-Sud is fully operational to deal with all emergencies and our team is there to offer you our emergency services.

We understand and share your concerns regarding COVID-19. Please be assured that the Centre Vétérinaire Rive-Sud is monitoring the situation closely and we will continue to consult and seek input from internal and external experts to provide you with the best advice. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Best regards,

Centre Vétérinaire Rive-Sud
